Hey there, I'm Michael, and I'm super pumped to share my recent adventures with Rollwalk electric shoes.
Now, I'm a 45-year-old medical doctor, and I've always been intrigued by the innovative solutions that modern life offers. Electric shoes, well, they've always had me wondering. So, last month, what? I scored big by snagging a pair of their electric shoes in a Rollwalk giveaway. Yeah, I was grinning from ear to ear!
After 2 weeks of intensive learning and exploration, I am here to share my insights and experiences.
Big Shoutout to Rollwalk
First, I thank Rollwalk for giving me this rare opportunity. Winning a pair of motorized shoes was like a dream come true for me. As soon as the giveaway ended, I received a message from Lorna. Two days later, I received an email about the logistics, and in less than five days, the shoes were delivered to my doorstep.
Rollwalk is about pushing sustainable and efficient urban commuting, and that's something to applaud. These electric shoes aren't just about getting from point A to B; they're a step toward a greener and faster future. They're all about getting more people to understand electric shoes and making this innovative tech practical.
Electric Shoe Learning Curve
Now, the journey of learning how to use electric shoes is a thrilling one.
I was jittery initially because I didn't know what to expect. But guess what?
The learning curve is surprisingly smooth. These shoes come with crystal clear instructions, and the Rollwalk team has been a tremendous help with their resources and online community.
Starting out was super simple. I had to charge Shoes up, put them on, and kick things off in low gear.
One standout feature of Rollwalk Electric Shoes is their user-friendly interface. Controlling them feels intuitive, and I got the hang of it quickly.
I've constantly communicated with Hugh, and he's been quick with feedback.
Balancing on these shoes turned out to be surprisingly easy.
Maybe it's because of my past ice-skating experience, but I felt comfy and secure quickly.
Rollwalk's commitment to safety is apparent in these shoes' thoughtful design and balance.
Tips for Learning Electric Shoes
●The key to learning is not to treat these shoes like ice skates. No need to sway your body; just keep your core steady and your feet firmly on the ground. The wrong moves can make learning way harder.
●Don't forget to tighten those Velcro straps on the shoes. It makes your moves smoother. The design of the Velcro is all about keeping your feet stable.
●When you encounter something like a speed bump during your ride, don't lift your feet. Just keep your leg muscles taut, and you can pass safely. The Rollwalk eRW3 electric shoes are way better at handling obstacles than you'd think. Of course, it's a risky challenge for longer obstacles like big tree branches if they're over 50mm. You should try to go slow to pass them because, with 70mm wheels, it's a bit of a gamble.
●The rear-wheel drive can sometimes make your balance go wonky when accelerating, so you gotta be ready when taking off. Starting with both feet pushing off makes it less likely to mess up. You can also start in low gear and then switch to high.
●I'd recommend using these shoes for trips within 5 miles. You need to keep your core muscles tight for a while, which can get tiring. You can switch up the speed to give your legs a break because high-speed riding constantly tests your endurance and stamina. So, don't think these electric shoes let you off the exercise hook; they're a different way to work out.
●Even though these shoes are super flexible and can glide through crowds, you need a lot of practice to get used to the brakes. Yes, it all depends on how they feel, as they are very linear in their response. Maybe the shoes are compact but go up to 20 mph, so the brakes are dialed in for safety. It also means you can't slam on them and need lots of trial and error to determine the correct pressure for different speeds. Mastering the brakes is a big part of getting these electric shoes.
●For rough, uneven terrain, you gotta be extra cautious. Conversely, transitioning from high to low surfaces, like a curb to the road, is smooth.
Suggestions for upgrading the motorized shoes
● I would like to see the electric shoes become lighter; even though you don't have to lift your feet while skating, the 2KG each adds some weight burden.
● In reality, a higher range doesn't make sense for most people; charging is fast enough to fill one up in an hour. If you use 3 miles as a one-way trip, 10 miles of range for daily passage is enough unless you travel around New York on electricity.
● The whole shoe could be a little more compact; right now, there is too much clearance between the wheels and the body. I can understand this is for better passing, but sometimes debris gets caught in it.
After 2 Weeks of Electric Shoe Exploration
Once I felt confident, I took these new electric shoes around my community. I got hooked on the experience. These shoes are incredibly smooth and quiet, giving you freedom like gliding in the wind.
Using electric shoes for transportation is this unique experience that grabs attention.
It made me realize how much I've been missing during my regular walks. Whether heading to work, running errands, or just enjoying a leisurely ride, these shoes have proven to be versatile transport tools. And guess what? You can even bring them on a plane; each shoe is under 100Wh.
Wholehearted Recommendation for Rollwalk Electric Shoes

Rollwalk's electric shoes offer a fun and exhilarating way to do just that. They encourage exercise, reduce carbon emissions, and provide a convenient way for short-distance travel.
I wholeheartedly recommend Rollwalk's electric shoes to anyone looking for an exciting, eco-friendly way to commute in the city or those who want to embrace a greener future with electric shoes as their mode of transport. These shoes are more than just transportation; they're a way of life.
