Tips for Learning Electric Shoes

●The key to learning is not to treat these shoes like ice skates. No need to sway your body; just keep your core steady and your feet firmly on the ground. The wrong moves can make learning way harder.

●Don't forget to tighten those Velcro straps on the shoes. It makes your moves smoother. The design of the Velcro is all about keeping your feet stable.

●When you encounter something like a speed bump during your ride, don't lift your feet. Just keep your leg muscles taut, and you can pass safely. The Rollwalk eRW3 electric shoes are way better at handling obstacles than you'd think. Of course, it's a risky challenge for longer obstacles like big tree branches if they're over 50mm. You should try to go slow to pass them because, with 70mm wheels, it's a bit of a gamble.

●The rear-wheel drive can sometimes make your balance go wonky when accelerating, so you gotta be ready when taking off. Starting with both feet pushing off makes it less likely to mess up. You can also start in low gear and then switch to high.

●I'd recommend using these shoes for trips within 5 miles. You need to keep your core muscles tight for a while, which can get tiring. You can switch up the speed to give your legs a break because high-speed riding constantly tests your endurance and stamina. So, don't think these electric shoes let you off the exercise hook; they're a different way to work out.

●Even though these shoes are super flexible and can glide through crowds, you need a lot of practice to get used to the brakes. Yes, it all depends on how they feel, as they are very linear in their response. Maybe the shoes are compact but go up to 20 mph, so the brakes are dialed in for safety. It also means you can't slam on them and need lots of trial and error to determine the correct pressure for different speeds. Mastering the brakes is a big part of getting these electric shoes.

●For rough, uneven terrain, you gotta be extra cautious. Conversely, transitioning from high to low surfaces, like a curb to the road, is smooth.

 

Suggestions for upgrading the motorized shoes

● I would like to see the electric shoes become lighter; even though you don't have to lift your feet while skating, the 2KG each adds some weight burden.

● In reality, a higher range doesn't make sense for most people; charging is fast enough to fill one up in an hour. If you use 3 miles as a one-way trip, 10 miles of range for daily passage is enough unless you travel around New York on electricity.

● The whole shoe could be a little more compact; right now, there is too much clearance between the wheels and the body. I can understand this is for better passing, but sometimes debris gets caught in it.

 

After 2 Weeks of Electric Shoe Exploration

Once I felt confident, I took these new electric shoes around my community. I got hooked on the experience. These shoes are incredibly smooth and quiet, giving you freedom like gliding in the wind.

Using electric shoes for transportation is this unique experience that grabs attention.
